Use of cookies

We use cookies for our websites. Cookies are small text files that are sent from our web server to your browser when you visit our websites and are stored on your computer for later retrieval. They serve to make the Internet offering more user-friendly and effective overall.

Cookies can basically be divided into two categories:

Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. These include, in particular, session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, which can be used to assign various requests from your browser to the shared session. This allows your computer to be recognised when you return to the website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.

Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser’s security settings.

Privacy settings / consent management tool

This website uses the Consent Manager OneTrust to obtain your consent to store certain cookies on your device and to document this in accordance with data protection regulations.

When you open the website for the first time, a pop-up will be displayed. There you have the option of consenting to individual data processing by clicking on the corresponding buttons or objecting to it , as far as this is technically possible. Scripts that collect user data and require consent for this purpose are only executed after consent has been given.

Your details will be stored so that the pop-up does not have to be displayed again when you visit the website again and so that your consent is documented.

The provider of this technology is OneTrust LLC Website: https://www.onetrust.com/de/

When you visit our website, a connection is established to the servers of in order to obtain your consent and other declarations regarding the use of cookies. OneTrust then stores a cookie in your browser so that it can assign the consents you have given or their revocation to you. The data collected in this way is stored until you request us to delete it, delete the OneTrust cookie yourself or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Mandatory legal retention obligations remain unaffected.

Cookie consent technology is used to obtain the legally required consent for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) lit. c) GDPR in conjunction with § 25 TDDDG.

You can revoke or change your decision at any time by adjusting your privacy settings via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

You can configure your browser settings according to your preferences and, for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. However, we would like to point out that you may then not be able to use all the functions of this website.

For more information on how cookies can be rejected using special browser plug-ins, please refer to the introduction to the chapter on integrated services further down in our privacy policy.

Web analysis

It is important to us to design our websites as optimally as possible and thus make them attractive to our visitors. To do this, we need to know which parts of them are popular with our visitors. To this end, we use the following technologies in our interest.

Google Analytics

(1) We use Google Analytics 4 on our website. Google Analytics 4 is a tracking tool provided by Google LLC. The responsible body for users in the EU/EEA and Switzerland is Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”).

(2) Google Analytics stores cookies on your computer, which can be used to analyse your use of our website. Data such as the user’s IP address, the website accessed, the website from which the user accessed our website, the subpages accessed from the accessed page, the length of stay and the frequency of visits to our website are stored. The information generated by the cookie is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

With Google Analytics 4, IP address anonymisation is enabled by default. Due to IP anonymisation, your IP address is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. According to Google, the IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data, so that a reference to your person can no longer be made, unless you are logged into your Google account when visiting our website.

The legal basis for the processing of Google Analytics on our website is our legitimate interest in improving the relevant content on our websites, in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Only when you have given your active consent via the cookie banner in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) will Google Analytics 4 set a cookie.

The parent company of Google Ireland, Google LLC, is based in California, USA. The transfer of data to the USA and access by US authorities to data stored by Google cannot be ruled out. From a data protection perspective, the USA is currently considered a third country. You do not have the same rights there as you do within the EU/EEA. You may have no legal recourse against access by authorities.

(8) Storage period:

The data sent by us and linked to cookies is automatically deleted after 6 months. Data that has reached its retention period is automatically deleted once a month.

Integrated services

In order to design our websites and provide additional functions, we integrate the following external services in our own interest.

All services can be deactivated by using special plug-ins for your browser or, more specifically, by preventing the necessary connection to the corresponding servers. Please note, however, that the use of such tools may result in a loss of the familiar everyday convenience, as many things will no longer work as you might expect.

Google Web Fonts

Google Web Fonts are implemented on our websites. These are responsible for the display of fonts. When Google Web Fonts are used, a Google server in the USA is called up and your IP address is transmitted to Google. If you are logged into Google with an existing user account while visiting our websites, Google may also be able to associate your visit to our websites with your user behaviour. We have no influence on this procedure and do not receive any information from Google about the transmitted content. If you do not want your visit to be associated with your Google profile, you must log out of Google before visiting our websites again.

Service provided by:

The provider is Google Inc. 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, represented in the EU by Google Dublin, Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Further information on data protection at Google Inc. can be found at: http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

Legal basis(es) for data processing:

We use Google Fonts on the basis of your consent, in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

For the exceptional cases in which personal data (your IP address) is transferred to the USA, Google relies on the European Standard Contractual Clauses:

https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks?hl=de

YouTube

We have integrated YouTube videos into our websites, which are stored on https://www.youtube.com and can be played directly from our websites.

These YouTube videos are generally integrated in extended data protection mode (YouTube internal function), so that initially only a connection to the YouTube server under the internet domain “youtube-nocookie.com” is established and your IP address is thus transmitted to YouTube. Only when you play the videos will any further personal data be transferred to YouTube (Google).

If you are logged into Google with an existing user account while visiting our websites, Google may also be able to associate your visit to our websites with your user behaviour. In addition, further cookies may be sent to your browser by YouTube (Google). We have no influence on this procedure and do not receive any information from YouTube (Google) about the transmitted content. We would like to point out that, as the provider of our websites, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or its use by YouTube (Google) and have no way of further restricting the transmission of data to YouTube (Google) and its partners. If you do not want your profile to be associated with YouTube, you must log out before activating the video.

Analysis of your user behaviour by YouTube (Google):

YouTube (Google) stores your data as usage profiles and uses it for advertising, market research and/or the needs-based design of its websites. Such evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our websites.

You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact YouTube (Google) to exercise this right.

https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks?hl=de

DoubleClick

DoubleClick by Google is integrated into our websites. DoubleClick uses cookies to display advertisements that are relevant to users, to improve campaign performance reports, or to prevent the same advertisements from being displayed to a user multiple times. Google uses a cookie ID to track which ads are displayed in which browser, thereby preventing them from being displayed multiple times. In addition, DoubleClick can use cookie IDs to track conversions related to ad requests. This is the case, for example, when a user sees a DoubleClick ad and later visits the advertiser’s website with the same browser and makes a purchase there. By integrating DoubleClick, a connection to a Google server is established when you visit our website. Your IP address is transmitted to Google in the process. If you are logged into Google with an existing user account while visiting our website, Google may be able to associate your visit to our website with your profile. We have no influence on this data transfer and further processing by Google. If you do not want your visit to be associated with your Google profile, we recommend that you log out of Google before visiting our website or use appropriate browser settings or add-ons (e.g. the “DoubleClick Deactivation Extension” add-on) that prevent cookies from being set.

https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks?hl=de

Google Photos

Our websites may contain content hosted by the Google Photos service (e.g. embedded images or albums). When you visit a page with embedded Google Photos content, a connection to Google’s servers is established. Your IP address is transmitted to Google and, if necessary, other data such as timestamps, browser information and the page visited is recorded.

If you are logged into an existing Google account, Google may be able to associate your visit to our website with your user account. This data processing is beyond our control. We ourselves do not receive any information about the content of the data transmitted or its use by Google. If you do not want Google to associate your visit to our website with your Google profile, we recommend that you log out of Google before visiting our website.

Our websites may contain YouTube thumbnails (preview images of YouTube videos). These images are loaded from YouTube or Google servers as soon as the corresponding page is accessed. Your IP address is transmitted to YouTube, as are other technical data (e.g. browser type, operating system, time of access and the page accessed). If you are logged into a Google account while visiting the website, Google may be able to link your visit to our website to your account. We have no influence on this data processing and do not receive any information about which data is actually processed by YouTube. If you do not want this association with your Google account, please log out of Google before visiting our website.

Right to object and right of withdrawal

This is the case if the processing is not necessary for the performance of a contract with you, which is addressed by us in the explanation of the individual data processing operations and functions on our websites above in this privacy policy. When exercising such an objection, we ask you to explain the reasons why we should not process your personal data as we have done. In the event of your justified objection, we will examine the situation and either stop or adjust the data processing or point out to you our compelling legitimate reasons for continuing the processing.

Communication by e-mail

Our email systems support encrypted communication using SSL technology (TLS 1.2 incl. PFS). This means that your email can generally be transmitted in encrypted form. Please note, however, that encryption also depends on the configuration of your email programme and that we cannot therefore guarantee complete data security during transmission.

For information that requires a high level of confidentiality, we recommend sending it by post.
